PRE-LUBER PRIMES ENGINE FOR ACTION

It is pretty much a known fact that the majority of engine wear occurs during start-up. At start-up internal engine parts are asked to interact without the benefit of proper oiling because the oiling system is not on line until the engine reaches the proper rpm. The Society of Automotive Engineers have calculated that as much as 90 percent of engine wear is the result of friction at start up. Some experts believe that each start up is the equivalent of 500 miles of driving on the road.

This brutal treatment of reciprocating engine components does not have to happen. Enter the Pre-Luber, a stand-alone oiling system that pre-pressurizes the engine's oiling system to flow oil through the engine prior to start up. The Pre-Luber system pumps oil from the oil pan into the sending unit or a main oil galley of the engine and is able to realize up to 55 psi prior to start up. The Pre-Luber can be set for activation via a door opening or by the more common means of switching the ignition key to the "On" position. The pre-oiling cycle lasts 20 seconds.

Turbo-powered vehicles get an added advantage as the Turbo version of the Pre-Luber can be programmed to keep oil flowing for up to five minutes after the key has been turned off and removed from the ignition. After hard use the oil that comes to rest in the turbo center section when the engine has been shut down is subjected to intense heat and as a result coking can occur. Coking is the actual "baking" of oil onto the turbo bearings which can lead to untimely bearing failure.

A side benefit is ease of oil changes as the Pre-Luber hose can be fitted with a quick disconnect fitting and the unit can be made to pump the engine's entire oil supply into a container. To complete the job simply swap out filters and pour in the fresh motor oil.

Bringing the Pre-Luber on-line can be accomplished with simple hand tools. The Pre-Luber is a turn-key affair that includes the pump and motor assembly, hoses, fittings, mounts, control module and wiring harness.

Striving for automotive perfection is no easy chore and the Pre-Luber is an excellent insurance policy aimed at extending the life of your engine.
