INSTALLATION OVERVIEW

This is not intended to replace installation manual. Please read and understand the installation manual fully before attempting installation.

Step 1 - Mounting of the Pump

  • Locate the desired place in the engine compartment to mount the pump, preferably in an easily accessible area, close to the pan as possible.
(the pump can be mounted on a fenderwall, the firewall, or the frame)
  • The pump should be mounted with the pump head down and/or horizontal.
Step 2 - Install the Drain Plug
  • Remove oil pan drain plug and drain engine oil
  • Install Kit replacement drain plug adapter (see fig. 2 below)
Step 3 - Install the Oil Sender Adapter
  • Locate your oil sender (you may have to contact your dealer)
  • Remove oil sender
  • Install adapter tee (see fig. 3a or 3b, depending on the size)
  • Replace oil sender into branch of tee
Step 4 - Install the Hoses
  • Using provided Push-Lok fittings, attach hose from oil pan fitting to the "in" port of the pump (see fig. 1)
  • Install external check valve directly on the pump or in-line, on the pressure side
  • Attach oil sender end of pressure hose first, then attach other end to the "out" port of the Pump (keep external check valve in mind)
  • For easy, quick oil changes you can use the optional quick release coupler on the pressure hose (see fig. 6)
Step 5 - Install the Electronics
  • Disconnect the battery
  • Mount the electronic module central to the pump, battery and a key activated wire.
  • Hook up the wires to the electrical system as shown
