Marine:

Ferries, Yachts, Fishing Boats, Sailboats, and Pleasure Boats, are among the hardest worked engines in the world and the marine environment is one of the harshest in the world.  For these reasons and more, the Pre/Post lubrication System should be on every engine in the water and marina.  Marine engines are either at idle or full throttle and most marine engines are not run on a daily basis.  The engine and its maintenance are the largest expense in operating a boat.  Engine rebuilds can range in cost up to $40,000, or more.  With a life expectancy of 3,000 hours, the Pre/Post Lubrication System, through ESP Products, can save thousands of dollars in maintenance costs.  Customer reports have shown engine life to more than double.  This could be worth $40,000 or more.  A list of reasons for Engine Start Protection can go on and on.

Through ESP Products, the Pre/Post Lubrication System will eliminate dry start conditions and reduce engine wear by circulating engine oil through the oil galleries at up to 40 PSI and lubricate the rotating assembly and valve train before the engine starts.  Starting your engine has long been known to be the worst thing you can do to your engine.  Major brand oil companies have quoted this for years.  The facts are simple; oil drains back into the oil pan, oil is needed to lubricate the moving engine parts, cold oil takes longer to travel through the engine to protect these moving parts, and finally unprotected metal to metal contact wears engine components.  This “wear” results in fine metal particles, these particles circulate through your engine; this is known as contamination.  This contamination further accelerates the wear of your engine.  You get the idea.  Marine engines, which usually have long periods with no operation, are more susceptible to dry start wear.  Another benefit to the Pre/Post Lubrication System is the post lubrication cycle that will assist in the cool down period after the engine is shut down.  This cycle is crucial in all turbocharged engine as well as the non-turbocharged engines.  Many marine engines are diesel and turbocharged as well.  In-board marine engines, gas or diesel, turbocharged or non-turbocharged, will benefit from the post lubrication cycle.  This will assist in lowering the engine temperature after the engine has been shutdown.

 BONUS**

During the routine maintenance, the Pre/Post Lubrication System can be utilized for easy oil charges.  With the quick disconnect, QD97003, you can simply place the pressure hose in an approved container and pump the oil out.  Then prime your engine and filter(s) before initial startup.  This is a clean and easy way to transfer engine fluids.
