H.D. Diesel Truck & Equipment:
Larger diesel engines; like the PowerStroke, Cummins, and the Duramax, that are used for work or pleasure need to last many year and be reliable. A Pre/Post Lubrication System is the best Engine Start Protection you can have to protect you investment. Diesel engines start hard and would greatly benefit from Engine Start Protection available in the Pre/Post Lubrication System. These larger engines are very costly to remove and rebuild. With the possibility of saving thousands of dollars by extending the life of your engine, can you afford not to have a Pre/Post Lubrication System? Starting your engine has long been known to be the worst thing you can do to your engine. Major brand oil companies have quoted this for years. The facts are simple; oil drains back into the oil pan, oil is needed to lubricate the moving engine parts, cold oil takes longer to travel through the engine to protect these moving parts, and finally unprotected metal to metal contact wears engine components. This “wear” results in fine metal particles, these particles circulate through your engine; this is known as contamination. This contamination further accelerates the wear of your engine. You get the idea. Now, what about pressure? Oil pressure is what separates the moving metal components of your engine while the engine is in operation; this includes cranking. No oil can do this without the assistance of a… …pump. The engines oil pump forces oil through the engine and the resulting interference creates pressure. This pressure separates the moving components and creates a lubricant film for these components to travel upon. Without the engines oil pump in full operation there is no pressure. [Note: This is an over simplified explanation of the engines oil system operation.] Experts have claimed that one startup on a cold engine (a.k.a. Dry Start) is equivalent to 500 miles of travel, in regards to engine wear. How many times have you started your engine this week, month, and year? Since most performance diesel engines are turbocharged, an adjustable post lubrication or cool-down cycle is featured. The “Turbo Plus” kit will continue to circulate engine oil through your engine and turbocharger after the engine (and oil pump) has shut down. This feature makes this kit the best Engine Shut-down Protection system you can buy. Engine oil will travel through the engine oil cooler, turbocharger, and oil galleries to transfer and draw damaging heat away from the engine. Peak water and oil temperatures are reduced. This aids in the lasting service life of the engine and turbocharger. Coupled with an efficient By-Pass filtration system, your engine could last 2 or 3 times longer. For an ever-simpler installation, ESP Products offers an optional Custom Filter Adapter (CFA) that allows the Pre & Post oil to run through the engines primary spin-on filter. How does it work? Simple. Turn your key to the on position. A 12v ignition signal starts the Pre- cycle. When you are finished operating the vehicle, all you do is shut off the engine and remove the key. The 12v signal is removed from the ECM and the Post- cycle begins. It's that simple to operate.
